Wireless devices are becoming more and more prevalent in our daily lives, increasing the need for robust security measures to mitigate the potential risks anticipated to accompany their widespread use. Bureau Veritas ICTK, a global chip testing laboratory, is set to host an event where cybersecurity companies and interested parties can share perspectives and gain an overview of global changes in Internet of Things (IoT) security regulations.
Titled “IoT Cybersecurity Seminar,” the four-hour event is scheduled for June 18 at the Corea Conference Center in Seoul. “We organized this event to share detailed information about the upcoming changes in the European Union’s IoT device regulations. We also planned sessions on IoT device standards to ensure interested parties are well-informed,” said Yoo Kyung-dong, Chief Marketing Officer of ICTK.
Bureau Veritas ICTK began its journey in 2017 through the collaboration of two companies, Bureau Veritas and ICTK. Bureau Veritas, headquartered in France, is globally recognized for its laboratory testing, inspection, and certification services. ICTK, a South Korean firm, was founded as a chip testing company and now focuses on security design. Last May, ICTK was listed on South Korea’s stock exchange, KOSDAQ.
Jerome Hamel, Head of Cybersecurity Technical Governance at Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services (CPS), will appear in person to explain international regulations, emphasizing in particular the European Union’s regulatory changes on IoT, expected to take effect in August 2025. He will also break down the key IoT standards into three categories, consumer, industry, and medical, and delve into each topic. Furthermore, the event will introduce cybersecurity risks analysis and certifications that are available to prove compliance to the authorities or customers.
The seminar will be held in English without translation. Those interested in attending can secure seats by registering at the link provided.
