Team Surpasses Milestones with Strategic Deals and Competitive Wins Across the State

SAN ANTONIO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–SWBC Investment Services, a Texas-based company, is proud to announce the rapid growth and momentum of its municipal bond underwriting team. Since launching its negotiated bond underwriting business in 2021, the team has quickly established itself as a formidable player in the municipal finance space.

In a significant milestone, the team recently closed 19 municipal bond deals in six months, highlighting seven standout transactions with prominent Texas issuers: Harris County, the City of San Antonio, San Antonio Water System (SAWS), Hidalgo County, Donna Independent School District, Corpus Christi Independent School District, and the City of Georgetown. These deals underscore the team’s expanding footprint and trusted relationships across the state. The total of negotiated bond underwritings falls just under $3.0 billion since 2021, which has benefited Texas communities.

“Our success is built on a foundation of strong relationships and dedication to our clients,” said Ryan Smith, SWBC Investment Services Director of Finance-Capital Markets. “With the support of our entire team, we’ve been able to price and close deals that deliver real value to our clients and communities.”

In addition to negotiated transactions, SWBC has consistently led in the competitive municipal bond space. Since 2018, the firm has committed capital as the sole underwriter with a 100% liability to place competitive bids. Within the Texas competitive space, 116 bids were won, including the competitive State of Texas Transportation Tax and Revenue transaction, with all Texas bids totaling more than $8.176 billion in par amount.

All deals referenced are municipal bonds, reinforcing SWBC’s commitment to public finance and infrastructure development throughout the United States and Texas.
