Hello, this is Dain Oh in South Korea. As our readers already know, The Readable publishes original content whether it is a news article or an image. I have been a strong advocate for quality images, especially regarding news articles. Good images give readers joy and reduce the costs of reading by delivering the essential message through visualization. In addition, I do believe that one of the things that damage cybersecurity journalism is the dreary images of locks that are widely used by news organizations with low budgets and indifference.

The Readable goes through several discussions with designers before publishing news articles. Our designers, Areum Hwang and Sangseon Kim, have been doing excellent work and changing the paradigm of cybersecurity journalism with the power of quality images. Below are the 10 images that we picked as a review of this year. Each designer picked 3 images and the journalists, Kuksung Nam and I, picked 2 images each. I have also included the links to the original reporting under each image. If you are curious about the stories behind the images, please click the links provided.
